As SMT (Structure, Mechanisms, and Thermals) Director, I contribute to CubeSat development through CAD design and extensive research through trade studies on manufacturing processes, welding techniques, sun sensors, etc. I gain hands-on experience in parts manufacturing using manual and VF2 mills at Bechtel, including CAM work on satellite components.I manage 3 subteams, working on systems design, on-boarding, and delegating various tasks to 20 to 30 engineers.

Founder and project manager of a collaborative project between Purdue’s Autonomous Robotics Club (ARC) and Purdue Space Program (PSP). This project works on initiating robotics applications in space. I worked on Operations and Continuous Improvement within the Pump line. Some projects included:Integration of end-of-line Camera Inspection System: customers were setting damage/fault responsibilities on the company, and so we needed a documentation/inspection process for what each pump looked like right before shipment. I developed a process that allows for easy picture taking of all six sides and wrote MIS instructions for it so that Op Techs can implement it into their process.Multus MIS Updates: Op Techs previously did not use the MIS when manufacturing Multus parts on the Pump line as it was 54 steps long, lots of unnecessary information was included, and it was out of date. As a result, I understood the manufacturing process of all 45 parts and inquired with the Op Techs what they want to see within the new MIS instructions and both updated and simplified the MIS.Offline-Assembly Line: One of the lines were having issues with training new members and balancing that out with actual production, so the idea was to create a training assembly bench. I worked on cost analysis and finding out what space and tool we have vs need to purchase. This enabled us to get an idea on how feasible this idea was for both the company and the production line.

I am spearheading a 15-person mission design team, translating mission’s technical requirements into actionable strategies. In addition, I oversee the orbiter’s integration, ensuring cohesive operation of all subsystems under specified conditions.

I am formulating mission design requirements and managing budgets for cost, power, mass, and more for the NASA RASC-AL competition. In addition, I interpret space and lunar agreements/treaties. My job is to gather sufficient information from outside sources and other subteams to enable the development of a comprehensive mathematical model for future space colony systems.Another project I am Systems Engineer for is ASTRO-USA. I write requirements and so both system and risk analysis/mitigation on an analogs habitat Purdue SEARCH is working on building.
