My internship was completed at one of Ventia’s projects: The Western Roads Upgrade (WRU) project. I assisted one of Ventia's Environmental Advisor to:• Review and update a series of environmental inspection checklists and, create a concise document with control measures. (Information was taken from the Maintenance Environmental Management Plan (MEMP)).• Reviewed and updated a series of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) such as Contaminated Soil or Material Removals, Recycling of Landscape Waste, and Spill Response. By updating these checklists and SOPs, I learned to identify the potential environmental impacts associated with road maintenance activities. Also, how they can be controlled or/and avoided by applying the necessary practices and procedures.I also, Attended Monday's toolbox meetings with managers, team leaders, and safety representatives learning and understanding worksite environmental/safety plans and mitigation measures.

• Conducted meetings with local communities to clarify any project concerns. • Performed field geological explorations including collecting and analysing samples. • Provided drilling supervision to ensure internal and external timeframe and quality expectations were met.• Performed chip and core description, analysis, and report data.
