Lead programmatic, research, and capital solutions agenda with a focus on building access to economic opportunity for Detroiters. Oversee metro Detroit capacity-building programming, including development of capital tools. Designer and Director of the Equitable Development Initiative (EDI), leveraging over 50 community partnerships to support Detroit-based developers of color with training, technical assistance, and capital. Design and oversee national program team operations and reporting structure. Develop business and funding plans for program replication.

Manage the Detroit Corridor Initiative’s research and engagement efforts around mixed-income neighborhood development, "inclusive growth"​, displacement issues, and tracking development in Detroit. Track CIP's lending program outcomes alongside partners'​ program outcomes to evaluate economic impact. Work with partner CDFIs, including the CDFI coalition's neighborhoods working group, to develop a process effectively partnering to address neighborhood stabilization and revitalization finance issues within smaller geographies.

MCR serves nonprofit community organizations in low-income communities throughout Michigan. At MCR, I focused on a number of projects including: assistance with implementation around a Neighborhood Stabilization Plan on Detroit's east side, commercial corridor market and land use planning, targeting blight-mitigation efforts citywide, transition and civic engagement for the Detroit Future City implementation office, and other planning and technical services for organizations across Detroit.Prior to 2013, my work at MCR focused on collecting, tracking, and summarizing/analyzing public feedback - and incorporating it into the planning process and final strategic framework - as part of the Detroit Works Project Long Term Planning civic engagement team.

Worked on comprehensive asset- and place-based approaches to regional economic development. Led community planning processes (i.e. recreation and master plans); responded to data quests via technical assistance in various forms; tracked available funding and relevant regional, state and federal policies; communicated with a diverse set of public and private stakeholders.

Analyzed a statewide survey for Detroit transportation accessibility analysis; Developed advanced spatial analysis techniques for manipulating large data sets; Established organizational/data-management techniques for use of confidential data; Maintained a comprehensive record of work for the benefit of advisor/future researchers; Prepared summary of neighborhood development indicator best practices for Detroit via literature reviews, interviews, professional memos, and presentations.

Teaching Assistant for a Geographic Information Systems course targeting Master's of Urban Planning students. Designed lab work and assignments, held lab hours, evaluated assignments, and worked one-on-one with students and peers.

Researched feasibility of increased transit access and revenue generation via park-and-ride improvements. Visited facilities throughout the system to collect data and gather information. Shared and developed experiences with peer group of fellows throughout the organization. Represented the CTA at community events.

At NOVA in Kichijoji, Tokyo, I spent 14 months teaching English lessons to individuals and small groups of K-12, college, and adult students.
