The CDC of Tampa, Inc. fosters economic development through partnerships and programs that serve Tampa Bay communities. My role within the organization lies with telling the CDC's story. I handle social media, as well as create print and digital content for the organization's newsletter and website. Not only am I the right-hand to the organization's CEO, I play an integral role in friend-raising on behalf of the CDC and coordinating CDC fundraising events.

Starting Right, Now (SRN) is a social services organization that works with unaccompanied/homeless high school students to achieve their goals. My role is to assist students with writing their college and scholarship essays, as well as assisting them with any educational needs. I conduct regular searches for new scholarships, keeping track of all scholarships on file and deadlines. I also apply for scholarships on the students' behalf. I worked with members on the SRN team to help the students create educational and career goals for their future. I also put together the organization's newsletter, which highlights the achievements of the students, as well as shares SRN news.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Minnesota Reading Corps is a state AmeriCorps volunteer program. As a K-3 Literacy Tutor I worked one-on-one with first, second and third grade students to improve their fluency in reading. I worked with an on-site reading coach to form intervention schedules, as well as assisted with afterschool reading programs. I administered weekly reading test, keeping record of and facilitating data entry of each students' progress. I also helped with morning and afternoon school duties, as well as evening family functions.Outside of my school duties, I volunteered at local homeless shelters organizing book donations and the on-site library. I also provided miscellaneous services, such as data entry, to local nonprofits in the Twin Cities area.

As the TLH Topics/Multimedia reporter I wrote columns and dailies influenced by the passion topics in the Tallahassee community. The topics include, dining out and entertaining with my family, as well as, home and gardening. I also host and produced a weekly entertainment show, Limelight Live, that ran on Tallahassee.com. In my position I was not only responsible for creating content for print, but also digital content, shooting/editing photo and video.
