In all of my work I focus on developing strategy, processes, and metrics to solve the problems at hand and for the future. Clarity around the problem, stakeholder involvement, change management, and organizational coherence under-gird decision making.My progression and passion started early, beginning as a fourth grade teacher, moving into middle school to teach English Language Arts and Reading to 6th and 8th grade student. Then I served as a Curriculum Facilitator before moving to the district level to lead the Department of Professional Learning for the 19,000 employees. I also served as an adjunct professor at Elon University. As the Senior Director for Innovative and Strategic Initiatives for the Wake County Public School System, the largest school district in North Carolina and the 16th largest district in the United States serving over 155,000 students, I focused my energy on supporting the development and implementation of the district Strategic Plan, as well as developing and leading organizational change processes and structures. I have enjoyed presenting topics focused on developing team structures, enhancing dialogue, teacher leadership, and other curriculum and instruction topics at the national ASCD and Learning Forward conferences, as well at state conferences. I am a Gallup Trained Strengths Coach and The Collaborative Operating System trainer.
