Previously Recruitment and Outreach Coordinator (May 2010-September 2011)Developed and implemented plan to recruit 400+ volunteers and 500+ students annually for out-of-school-time educational programs. Managed volunteer lifecycle, including welcome and orientation, program and training selection, and retention activities. Built community partnerships for volunteer recruitment, student referrals, and organizational visibility. Managed social media accounts, edited blog, and guided storytelling efforts. Designed flyers and other communication collateral. Hired, trained, and supervised full-time recruitment staff and interns, and led cross-department committees and projects. Contributed to long-term organizational strategic planning. Key accomplishments included: • Increased volunteer numbers by nearly 60%. • Designed and delivered regular trainings in volunteer management for new program staff and increased volunteer retention 5 years in a row. • Built over 20 new relationships with high schools, colleges, businesses, and community organizations for volunteer outreach. Supported the launch of 3 new volunteer positions and 5 new tutoring program sites. • Created new onboarding processes for returning volunteers and students, revamped intake and welcome procedures for all student applicants, and oversaw the development of Salesforce databases for students and volunteers by an external corporate partner. • Collected over 200 new student referral contacts from schools and social service agencies and developed a new model for referral partnership building events.

Communicated with students and community agencies to plan and implement community service programs both continuing and new, including Habitat for Humanity, Into the Streets day of service, hunger awareness day, and community engagement theme house. Managed the day-to-day operations of university office of community service, including handling financial accounts, keeping administrative records, and supervising graduate students. Recreated and maintained office website.

Coordinated all volunteer services, including creation of a core program and policies, the welcome and placement of new volunteers, a calendar of social and recognition events, and regular communication with volunteers. Placed here as part of Public Allies, a 10-month AmeriCorps service and leadership development program.

Developed curriculum for and taught art to students ages 6-13. Orchestrated showcase of student work. Administered reading program and lending library. Worked collaboratively with other youth services staff to facilitate after-school and summer camp program. Placed here as part of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, a year-long service program focusing on spirituality, social justice, community, and simple living.
