Founded practice in 1994 and grew from a startup to managing a client base with hundreds of clients. Work included court-appointed representation of clients with some of Harris County’s leading county and district judges. Represented defendants with a wide variety of offenses including murder, drug activity, driving while intoxicated and felony theft. Worked closely with the Harris County District Attorney’s office in plea bargains beneficial to both my clients and the State of Texas. Brought multiple cases to jury trials with a high acquittal success rate. Built and maintained a high degree of profession rapport with the district judges, their staffs and the District Attorney’s Office. Civil practice included both personal injury and insurance defense work. Supervised attorney teams for large and complicated cases.

Assistant Public Defender – first female litigator hired by the Webb County Public Defenders office. Represented indigent clients in a wide range of offenses in both county and district courts. Built a strong working relationship with the Webb County District Attorney and the County Sherriff. Tried many cases both to the bench and a jury with a high acquittal rate. Conversant in Spanish with mostly Hispanic client base.

Director of Alumni – created and implemented a new nation-wide alumni program at the College increasing interaction between the College and the Alumni community. Managed a State Bar of Texas approved CLE program for graduates. Participated as a board member of the monthly school magazine, In Re; The Magazine of the South Texas College of Houston, responsible for content and the alumni section. Created and managed the College’s first alumni fund-raiser. Managed a small department reporting to the dean of the College. Participated in the team that created a new branding and marketing plan for the college and implemented a new strategic initiative to better promote the school.

Assistant Admissions Director – supported my alma-mater in the recruiting of top-quality law students. Assisting the admissions director in recruiting new students. Traveled the county to leading colleges giving presentations to large audiences working to find and recruit the best talent.
