VSO delivers development impact through international, national, and community volunteers.During my volunteer journey, I promoted social inclusion and created awareness on rights of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). I worked with the Association for The Physically Disabled of Kenya (APDK) to medically assess Persons with Disabilities, record their details, request for appliances from the County Government and coordinate with the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, (NCPWD) to reach out to the marginalized Persons with Disabilities in interior part of Nandi County. Also, I facilitated during community events such as World Down Syndrome day. I developed a proposal for Kaptis Special School's gate and we successfully implemented it. Additionally, I conducted action research on intellectual disabilities in Nandi and gave the recommendations to the County Government of Nandi for further action and research.Notably, I worked with passionate Volunteers from UK and Kenya who were from diverse cultural backgrounds.
