Managed the relationship between BBAHC and GCI for village WAN links and managed video services. Responsible for security account management for vendor access to BBAHC networking equipment. Implemented and supported BBAHC corporate firewall and VPN device. Co-wrote RUS Grant applications for VTC equipment with requests of over $500,000. Developed a clear, easy to follow documentation model used for all village technology deployments. Co-managed Internet security software residing on a MS SQL database server. Designed and installed Anchorage Daily News WAN utilizing private line and Cisco routers. Managed migration from one ISP to another while maintaining DNS, email, web and other Internet services, working closely with other departments to ensure 24/7 publishing uptime. Security Officer: Performed security baseline and audit. Responsible for ongoing network analysis. Project Manager for security analysis and improvement. Project Manager and technical lead for redesign of email flow for Exchange 2000 Enterprise deployment. Project lead for systems backup/recovery/disaster analysis and redesign.Key Contributions➢ Project Manager and technical lead for replacement of the ADN’s entire network infrastructure using Cisco 4500, 3550 and 2950 series switches, saving the ADN thousands of dollars each year in maintenance and labor for upkeep of ageing equipment, increasing network speed by 1000% and failover reliability with forecasted support and room for growth over an eight year lifecycle.➢ Project Manager for ADN/McClatchy (ADN’s parent company) on $1.5 million dollar PBS circulation application deployment, coordinating project among three of McClatchy’s sister papers. Managed the ADN’s core team of 12 people across five departments.➢ Migrated ADN to Windows 2000 Active Directory from Apple/Win98 on 500-node network. Led project team for standardizing enterprise PCs to Windows 2000 Professional. ➢ Project manager for VPN deployment using RADIUS authentication, a Cisco 3005 VPN concentrator and PIX 501 firewalls, extending site to site WAN. Deployed PIX 515 firewall for Internet/DMZ layered security, allowing increased security for ADN’s Internet applications.

Converted network from flat-hubbed model to a switched network.
