About Elizabeth Pode

Our career paths don’t always follow a straight line, but that’s part of the fun, right? Throughout my eight years of full-time experience in higher education, I’ve worked with undergraduates and graduates, humanities majors and business masters, domestic and international students, and have had my hand in just about every aspect of the college system at Pepperdine University. In my current role as a Career Coach for Graziadio Business School, I work in tandem with students earning their MBAs and MS degrees in Finance and Analytics to set goals, improve their skills and networking, craft their personal brand, and ultimately land their dream role. Through this role I’ve become skilled at teaching/crafting courses, corporate outreach, and event planning for current students, alumni, and executives.I pull from my five years of knowledge as an Academic Advisor, working with all six Business School full-time Master’s programs, which helped me solidify my institutional knowledge and curriculum building skills. I’ve worked to individually craft personalized program plans with a volume of 300+ students per term, ensuring that accurate records are kept of confidential information. During my time working in the Programs Office, I ensured students of all ability levels, backgrounds, and immigration statuses were able to successfully complete their program and feel confident staying on track with their academics. With my growing confidence as a higher education professional, I returned to my hometown university, CSU Channel Islands, to earn my Master of Arts in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in higher education. My hope is to put my research on disabled student experiences, coupled with my own experience as a disabled student and educator, to use in a role that increases equity for students and uplifts staff and faculty in their knowledge. I have already begun this journey through spearheading and partnering with other students and educators on campus to create dynamic disability-focused events and initiatives such as Pepperdine Graziadio Business School ADA Celebration month (July 2022), Disability Awareness Week (2022-20224), Highlighting Disability in Careers panel (March 2023 & 2024), and the Graziadio Diversity Council (2020-present).Let’s connect to chat about the latest and greatest news in educational equity!
