About Elizabeth Rene

Lizz Rene (she/her/hers) identifies as a Black woman and entrepreneur who has dedicated her work full-time to dismantling oppressive systems and amplifying stories within the Black community. She works full-time as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practitioner and entrepreneur. In November of 2020, she launched her own product based business called PO' UP! Card Game - a conversational party game celebrating the experiences of Black college students and alumni from Historically Black Colleges (HBCUs) to Predominantly White Institutions (PWIs). Before making the pivot into consulting and entrepreneurship, Lizz worked for Google as an DEI Learning & Development (L&D) Program Manager; served as Interim Director of the DEI Strategy and Programming Team for District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS); and led strategic communications at GMMB, a social impact communications firm. She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, founding member of the Gathering Spot (Washington, DC), life-long member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated and a LUMA-certified Human Centered Design Practitioner.
