As an experienced educator and coach, I have the privilege of working with individuals from kindergarten through 12th grade for 13 years.As a a special education teacher, my main responsibility is to foster growth and development with all of my students, while building a supportive, respectful environment. I effectively communicate and collaborate with administration, co-workers, families, and children. A major part of my job entails organizing and leading individual education plan (IEP) meetings and then developing and executing those IEPs. I record and analyze data on progress towards academic and behavior goals. Also, I create and manage behavior plans and communication systems and continually monitor and adapt as necessary. In the schools, I supervise and train paraprofessionals. I am confident with Microsoft Office and Apple products and utilize low and high tech assistive technology devices.As Director of Instruction and Assessment at a therapeutic day school, I oversaw curriculum, state and school assessments, supervised 18 special education teachers and 3 ancillary staff, and oversaw technology program. I collaborated with the administration on a daily basis and supported teachers with academics and behavior plans. In addition, I worked closely with technology coach and working towards creating a blended learning environment at our school.In addition to teaching, I have coached soccer at the middle school and high school levels for 8 years. I communicate with players, parents, coaches, and school administration. I collaborate with coaches on practice plans daily. In addition, I record and analyze statistics, handle budget, coordinate fundraiser, organized try-outs, created season schedule, and supervised off season youth and high school camps and leagues.
