• Plan and implement $130,000 program budget to schedule and implement approximately 400 family and community programs per year, including family art studios, in-gallery programs, homeschool workshops, early childhood initiatives, medical center partner programs, and special programs with community partners.• Established and maintained strategic relationships with a diverse list of community partners including Harris County Public Library, Houston Parks and Rec Department, Asia Society Texas, Houston Grand Opera, MD Anderson, Texas Children’s Hospital, and Contemporary Art Museum. • Led the implementation of ongoing evaluations to assess the impacts of family and community programs. • Worked with curatorial, publications, and graphics departments to develop family interpretive resources to be used in-gallery and at home.

Dallas/Fort Worth Area

• Conceptualized, planned, developed, and evaluated gallery programs and art making activities for families as part of AdventureAsia: Free Family Days at the Crow, a monthly program held every first Saturday.• Through creative programming initiatives and utilizing community partners, increased attendance at family programs by over 35% in first year as Director of Programs.• Instigated a new gallery talk series, Artful Bites, offering visitors a fifteen-minute taste of art on the first Friday of the month.• Supervised, trained, and evaluated Education Coordinator, Contract Educators and Education Department interns.• Managed volunteers for public programs both regular volunteers and those associated with schools and other philanthropic organizations.• Managed, designed and conducted docent training sessions on art history, teaching techniques, educational theory and methodology.• Managed education department budget, attendance reports, and evaluations.

Be it the history, objective, function or method, art is a fundamental component of any education system. But often times, art is a low priority for over burdened schools and teachers. Museum education programs are important supplementary and complimentary forces to the teaching of arts offered in today’s schools. I hope to continue and expand my contributions in museum art education by gaining a better academic understanding of the history, theories, and philosophies of museum art education.

• Working with Art Central, a multiple art museum visit program for students in grades four through six that facilitates the opportunity for students to understand how to utilize the museum and its resources. • Develop tour curriculum to teach children how to describe, analyze, and interpret works of art and encourage students to make connections between art and ideas. • Provide an interactive experience with original works of art to encourage reflection, discussion, and creative thinking.

• Monitor and engage in social media conversations (blog posts, tweets, forum threads) while building and managing online community, including profiles for Facebook, Technorati, Twitter and Myspace.• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills under extremely tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment for both basic blog submissions and keyword rich text web copy. • Worked with Radian6 to optimize results in organic marketing and networking such as forums and blogs which in turn increased site traffic. • Designed and programmed the HoneyShed blog and beauty blog using Wordpress, CSS and HTML coding. Administrated the uploads and moderated all comments occurring on the site. Later assisted in the development of one singular community site using Capable Networks.• Administered Twitter account, increasing its followers from 6 to over 250 in the first three weeks. Acted as the first point of contact for customer requests via this social media.

• Asst. Art Department Coordinator for NBC Pilot “Business Class”• Collected and cataloged all research for the Production Designer including photographs, geographical information about locations and various options for props and set dressing.• Developed relationship with three product placement companies which in turn gave production over $5000 worth of free products to be used in the filming, opening up this portion of the budget for other purchases. • Organized all administrative reports, purchases orders, supplies and general requests needed by the art department office.

• Art Department Coordinator for the 79th annual Academy Awards.• Created a business relationships Swarovski Crystal, with whom I coordinated the production of a ten million dollar crystal curtain used for both the Award show and the Oprah Winfrey Show.• Arranged meetings and presentations for producers and Academy members as well as oversaw the week long bid process between the designers and the various scenic houses. • Managed the art office making sure all necessary supplies, furniture and art materials were available, including modeling tools, blue print and over sized printers, drafting tables and supplies.

From prop master to art director to on-set dresser, I took pride in my meticulous attention to detail, ability to organize thousands of set pieces and to anticipate the needs of the designers and directors.
