As a self-proclaimed public relations enthusiast, I’m commonly asked questions like; “ok, but what do you actually do every day?”. The answer isn’t easy – and that’s why I’m so passionate about the world of PR. Each day is a new opportunity: to have my story picked up, go viral on social, plan a unique event or ghostwrite for leading executives in many industries. My favorite projects have been event coordination, creative writing and storytelling, and amplifying brand awareness and thought leadership for the (then) fledgling brands I've worked with. No industry is too large, technical or complicated when you're speaking to the right audience! I've grown to find a niche in companies that are in the middle of major changes and growth, thanks to my adaptability and passion for corporate communications. My professional accolades include a Bachelor of Applied Arts in public relations and marketing from Central Michigan University, where I also earned a professional selling certificate from Carew International. I’ve been working in the world of corporate communications since my graduation in 2017, in both the agriculture (seed) and supply chain/material handling automation industries. Recently, I took the leap to the agency side of PR, as a senior account executive with Mulberry Marketing Communications, where we specialize in business-to-business PR, digital marketing and communications. While PR isn’t as glamorous or salacious as pop culture would make it seem, I can spot an oxford comma or double space after a period from a mile away and have been known to point out editing mistakes in your favorite movies and shows. I’m usually not afraid to speak up when I see a “bad” marketing or PR move in the news, to the chagrin of my non-marketer friends. I live by the motto “take your work seriously, but not yourself”.When I’m not obsessing (healthily, I promise!) about my role and clients, I can be found enjoying a glass of wine at one of Indy’s many dog-friendly patios, camping in a state park, or playing card and lawn games in the backyard with my Labrador mix, Archie and husband, Will.
