Owner of Mottoform, Canada-based design studio (previously Helsinki). Established in 2005 — working in product design, interior spaces, ceramics, textile, surface pattern, furniture, collectible art and objects.My work has earned international awards and recognition, and in 2012 I was selected as Industrial Designer of the Year in Finland, awarded by Ornamo.My versatility can be seen in projects for prominent Finnish and international brands, such as lighting, textile, wallpaper, furniture, watches, and homewares. Nordic influences are evident in the form language of my designs, and in the desire to explore the narrative of materials and ways of making. My goal is also to influence designs towards a circular economy, and I enjoy designing products that people need and use everyday.Born in Canada, I studied design in the U.S. and Finland, and received a degree in Industrial Design from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. I've worked in Canada, U.S. and Finland, and bring international experience to projects.I’m interested in a collaborative process, and an ideal client / company is interested in making products with longevity, a client that values kindness and good ethics.
