Compator Cloud mini-data centres are secure, efficient and sustainable. As we roll them out, we're making modern digital technology affordable and accessible to the world.I joined a group of super smart people as a co-founder of Compator earlier in the year. Our sustainable start-up tech company has aspirational philanthropic goals for the Global South. In my role as COO I am relishing building our operations as we work towards our goal of 5 more years of healthy economic life for the disadvantaged.I enjoyed a successful three and a half years with Solidatus, a metadata management company as it moved from start up to scale up phase. Solidatus gave me the chance to work with metadata management for both public sector and financial services. Specifically how data lineage can address business problems by enabling discovery of the data estate and reducing data complexity.Previously I enjoyed a 20+ year career as an officer in the Royal Navy and Royal Navy Reserve. I am an experienced staff officer with expertise in policy development and implementation and data analysis. 2020 saw a transition from the public to the private sector with the aspiration of bringing successful data management strategies to benefit digital transformation in government.I have had significant experience organising and running charitable initiatives, especially leveraging networks, event organisation and event management as vice chair of the Poppy Ball, fundraising for the Royal British Legion, raising over £1.3m in the past 12 years. My solo events have also been supported by wonderful volunteers, helping me raise an additional £280,000 for other charities including The Royal Artillery Charitable Fund, Women's Aid, Kith and Kids and the Army Benevolent Fund.I am also a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers'.
