Assistant Director assists the director in the daily operations of the center. He/She will run the center in the director’s absence. Other duties include:Act as a floater, filling in each classroom as neededAnswering phoneGiving tours in director’s absenceResponding to parent and staff needsSeeking positive relationship with familiesMentoring and training teachers on the LDBB methodologyManaging ordering of supplies and monthly inventoryPreparing for and assisting in Licensing visitsKeeping accurate student and staff recordsClosing and/or opening and cleaning the center daily

50% Travel to all parts of Ohio and surrounding states.While in town, I taught workshops at the museum on a wide range of topics to all school aged students. I taught science labs in schools either during the day or after school as well. I also planned my travel weeks by communicating with the schools I would visit, arrange hotel stays, plan travel routes, and study the material I would teach. While traveling, I would set up with volunteers the night before, the next day I would teach an assembly to as many as 500 elementary students at once, train parent volunteers, and conduct break out groups of more detailed topics. Then we would pack it all up and I would be off to the next school! It was a very fast paced job. There were many customer service components as well. I was constantly in a rush and could never make anyone feel that way and yet being on time was imperative.

Customer service, explained menu options, took orders, filled drink orders, communicated with kitchen staff if necessary, followed up with each customer, and ensured their experience was wonderful. Stocking supplies and cleaning.

Taught 2nd grade to inner city youth with very limited support or resources. Supervised classroom activities, lunches, outdoor play, and occasional field trips. Created lesson plans for all content areas, taught lessons, conducted evaluations, calculated and submitted grades, and held parent conferences.

Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Central America

Taught second grade to 23 English language learning, Spanish speaking children. Developed lesson plans in 8 content areas on a team with 3 other 2nd grade teachers. Co-developed a rhythm and drumming club for elementary school students.
