About Liz Pardo
I am an educator and graduate from Madison College with my AA in Visual Communications (ViComm, now called Visual Audio Design). I joined the ViComm program in fall 2020 because I had become disillusioned with the efficacy of my teaching methodology that I developed and implemented post-Masters degree. Essentially, the "read essays and write essays" method of teaching critical thinking to my all-age students was not helping them actually learn critical thinking. My main focus in everything I do is teaching critical thinking skills to others, but my main focus in ViComm is storytelling / story production. Other concepts I honed at Madison College, and am interested in, are: process-to-product creation and the ethics of production; education, methodology, and instruction for general and discipline-specific knowledge; education through aesthetics-, play-, and fun-driven methodologies; and digital literacy and inclusion of all-age learning of the digital tools that shape our lives (kids and seniors need to understand the internet!).I am looking forward to teaching my students visual critical thinking, as well as strategic design, which is, essentially, how to address large-scale social issues in a creative, systemic, positive, and actually-impactful way.
Listed skills include Creative Writing, Advertising, Copy Editing, Freelance Writing, and 53 others.
