Elizabeth is passionate about all things related to land, water and natural resources. In her practice, that passion translates to helping clients with land use, property law including access and easement issues, real estate transactions and conservation real estate, water law, estate planning, and environmental and natural resources matters.Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Elizabeth has called Montana home for over 20 years. Prior to her current position, Elizabeth was the attorney and manager of land acquisitions for the City of Missoula's Open Space Program, where she worked on public and private land conservation to help to protect Montana’s wild places. Before working for the City of Missoula, she represented individuals and non-profit clients in the areas of environmental and natural resources law, civil litigation, estate planning and disability law. Elizabeth earned her J.D. from the University of Montana School of Law in 2008, where she served as an Editor of the Public Lands and Resources Law Review and, after law school, served as law clerk to Justices Nelson (ret.), Leaphart (ret.) and Rice of the Montana Supreme Court in 2008-2009. Elizabeth also completed a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Georgia in 1998 and an M.S. in Environmental Studies from the University of Montana in 2002.Prior to attending law school, Elizabeth worked in land and wildlife conservation in the non-profit and university settings, as an outdoor educator and also as a raft guide. Elizabeth has studied and traveled throughout many parts of Central and South America, and is fluent in Spanish. Elizabeth is admitted to practice in Montana State and U.S. District Courts, the Montana Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. When not helping clients achieve results with their legal matters, Elizabeth can be found exploring Montana's open lands and rivers on foot, bicycle, raft and skis with her husband and two children.
