While being knowledgeable and experienced in fitting all kinds of contact lenses, Dr. Wickware's specialty is in fitting difficult and complex contact lenses, such as scleral lenses, hybrid lenses, all types of rigid gas permeable lenses including torics and multifocals, and reverse geometry lenses. She has experience fitting contact lens patients who have keratoconus, post-corneal transplant irregularities, post-surgical ectasia, corneal degenerations and scars, large amounts of astigmatism, and severe dry eye conditions such as Sjogren's syndrome. She also enjoys teaching, and has worked with externs rotating through her offices, as well as being a clinical instructor at the Chicago College of Optometry in both the primary care and specialty contact lens clinics. As a primary eye care provider, Dr. Wickware is also experienced and comfortable with examining children through adults, diagnosing and managing ocular diseases and problems, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and eye infections and injuries. She also co-manages the care of patients after cataract and laser refractive surgery. Having completed a master's degree in vision science studying computer vision syndrome, she is also familiar with ways to help patients struggling with eyestrain and visual discomfort.
