I am currently a Research Scientist at the Center for Nutrition and Health Impact. I obtained my PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2022 and a BS in Community-Medical Nutrition and Dietetics from Viterbo University in 2016. Prior to graduate school, I worked as a clinical Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), providing inpatient dietitian staff relief and outpatient counseling to families with children at risk for type 2 diabetes. With my background as a clinician and now engaged in research, I have used both quantitative and qualitative research methods to inform and evaluate nutrition-focused interventions within diverse communities. I also have experience evaluating the dietary patterns of socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals across the lifespan, and working with key stakeholders from food banks and federally qualified health centers throughout each step of the research process. Within my career, I strive to continue working with underserved communities to develop practical behavioral interventions to prevent and improve management of diet-sensitive diseases.
