Drive process improvements through Operational Excellence initiatives – Implement Lean principles through-out organization paying special attention to the role of the Supply Chain within the company value stream (from demand entry, through planning, procurement, warehousing & distribution)Write training material on subjects such as 6S, Process Flow, Value Stream Mapping, Pull Systems, Identifying Waste in the Process, Kanban systems, Diagnostic Tools, Visual Control systems, Work Control systems, etc. Arrange, present & train core groups in these principles.Apply Value Management/Value Engineering principles to prepare diagnostics and improvementsLead diagnostics and implementation initiatives (team of 20 project leaders and 3 Lean Managers) & sustain improvements through self directed teamsFacilitate Kaizen events Weekly reporting to Operations Council, monthly to Management Communication Forum & quarterly presentations to Joy Global Operations Directors on improvements Key development activities to realize organizational goals of inventory reduction, on time delivery & cost reduction: Inventory reduction (dormant, excess, slow moving as well as actions to sustain reductions) SAP data clean up: Master data clean up, aligning Master Production Schedule with SAP demand, re-design material classification information, vendor master data clean up, create standard works instructions, facilitate data governance through strategic responsibilities - procedures & user profiles to sustain clean up. Strong emphasis on training throughout Supply Chain (developing gap analysis, training and electronic “toolboxes”. The desired outcome is to create visibility, accountability & on time delivery.Remove road blocks to facilitate quality at the source, vendor kept inventories & vendor development in line with BBBEE score cards.
