CATHSSETA’s* mandate is to facilitate skills development within their sub-sectors through the disbursement of grants for learning programmes and monitoring of education and training as outlined in the National Skills Development Strategy [NSDS*]. As Quality Assurer, my role encompassed:• Accreditation of providers by ensuring alignment of the provider’s quality management system, Educational, Training and Development [ETD*] practitioners and programmes to, South African Qualifications Authority [SAQA*] and, CATHSSETA Education and Training Quality Assurance [ETQA*] criteria• Monitoring and auditing providers to ensure ETQA* compliance• Reviewing conditional compliance plan information• Completion of post verification reports• Fulfilling external moderation processes• Conducting site visits for monitoring purposes and reporting on outcomes• Conducting client monitoring and evaluation visits (Learnerships)• Facilitating capacity building in ETD* and Quality Management Accreditation [QMA*] requirements• Maintaining the Provider Electronic Management System• Assisting with programme approvals and workplace integration assistance• Coordinating projects related to the ETQA* support function• Compilation of reports for committee meetings• Development of qualifications as per QCTO* processes• Report to the QCTO* as per Service Level Agreement and adhere to timeframes• Performing Assessment Quality Partner [AQP*] duties

SAAHSP* is a Non Profit Organisation serving its members and the Beauty, Somatology, Spa and Wellness Profession and Industry as the professional body in South Africa. SAAHSP is legally constituted to protect the Public Interest in relation to services provided. • Scheduling of examination timetables for SAAHSP* • Appointing invigilators for theory exams• Conducting inspections as and when required• Liaising with Education Centres• Coordinating learner workshops • Liaising with Planning Accreditation Board, Services SETA* and Council on Higher Education• Reviewing of education budgets to ensure targets are met• Moderating of exam papers• Effectively attending to syllabus updates and changes• Handling daily financial duties and managing membership• Ensuring effective marketing strategies are in place• Attending meetings at Services SETA* on the Personal Care Chamber Board.

• Drafting policies and procedures for the accreditation of providers and submission of same to SAQA*• Effectively monitoring the quality of education and training • Verifying that learner outcomes are achieved• Certifying learners to devolve certification function• Generation of ETQA* reports• Maintaining accreditation status of ETQA*

• Critical evaluation of learning programmes• Facilitating assessor training and moderation techniques• Developing quality audit procedures, feedback procedures and verification reports• Revising the Quality Assurance system• Conducting site inspections• Implementing on-site audits and proposing recommendations
