I develop value evidence strategies and research approaches, and implement outcomes research studies to support pediatric (CMV) and adolescent (HPV) vaccines across the development pipeline. I also lead cross-functional value evidence sub-teams, particularly in relation to impact and effectiveness research and adult vaccination and serve as the outcomes research expert for teams in Canada and the Eastern European, Middle East, and Africa regions.

• Founding team member of this non-profit startup conceptualized as a community partner which brings a data-savvy, system dynamics lens to bear on extreme challenges of communities facing endemic poverty and empowers communities to create and own innovative technology and business model solutions. • Co-developed organization's theory of change and now provide lifecourse health development, community health, and population health perspectives to ongoing projects in India, South Africa, and the U.S.

• Provided leadership and strategic direction to professional organization of over 1600 child health professionals. • Advocated for child health through testimony before state legislature and editing and revising of MCAAP written testimony on child-health related bills.• Spearheaded campaign to eliminate religious exemptions to mandatory school vaccines, building coalition of like-minded organizations, including MA Public Health Association and the Child Health Access Coalition.• Represented the Chapter at local, regional, and national meetings relating to child health, population health management, and health care transformation.• Performed functional analysis of organizational structure and, based on findings, reorganized MCAAP committees to align structure to function and improve efficiency. Achieved 70% reduction in committee number while maintaining key functions. • Oversaw planning, development and implementation of well attended annual MCAAP CME Meeting.

• Directed research center with 8 investigators, $7 million annual budget, and 32 FTE staff.• Led interdisciplinary team of 9 to finance and conduct the PSD Study, a decade-long $3.62M NIH-funded cohort study of social status’ impact on obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and mental health. First and only study with long-term data on developmental trajectories of perceived stratification and its impact on health. 29 high impact publications.• Developed business case for and guided implementation of a psychosocial needs screening program into internal medicine clinic. Negotiated initial $200,000 contract, reducing cost and protecting patients’ privacy. • Directed Harvard Catalyst’s Child Health Program, creating a platform for engagement of child health researchers across the entire university and awarding $800,000 in pilot grants. Oversaw inter-institutional teams of 4-6 to conduct three highly successful symposia on major health concerns (mental health, genomics, developmental origins of health and disease). •Co-authored scientific and policy statements for three prominent national professional organizations: National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine, the American Heart Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. • Developed and published a novel 3-generation model to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.• Advised National Children’s Study on design and measurement protocols, particularly in relation to PROs.• Provided leadership and direction to multiple NIH-funded clinical and community-based trials. • Standing member on the National Institute of Health’s Kidney, Nutrition, Obesity and Diabetes (KNOD) study section (2011-2014). • Appointed to NIH’s CTSA Consortium Child Health Oversight Committee. Ran Committee’s Lifecourse Research Working Group which delivered two workshops at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting. Elected member of the Operation Group to guide Committee’s functioning.

• Founded a new adolescent obesity treatment program built on the principle that childhood obesity needs to be managed in the community, where children live, learn and play, rather than in a tertiary academic medical center. Built integrated data reporting tool for direct entry of PROs and patient history into customized EHR.• Created a community-based participatory research program to build capacity in disadvantaged communities for improving young people’s health by reducing obesity risk. Funded by $3M Bingham Trust grant. Partnership with Fitchburg, MA led to trans-fat ban in schools in 2009.• Analyzed Massachusetts’ pediatricians’ perspectives on school-based BMI screening to assist with implementation of statewide BMI screening regulations. • Co-Directed the Boston Nutrition Obesity Research Center's Clinical and Community Research Core which provided expertise and guidance to obesity researchers across the Greater Boston area.
