I stumbled into clinical research. I always thought my dream was to be a flight attendant for a major airline. Being able to sport the well-known uniforms and travel the world was all I could imagine. It seemed like an appropriate dream given that I was a foreign exchange student in the Netherlands for a time. But as I reflected on this goal, I felt like something was missing. Would it be a career where I could genuinely help people and consistently develop professionally and personally? Enter stage right: clinical research. The spark that I was searching for ignited the instant I joined one of the world's largest full services CRO. Learning that I could be part of the industry that improves people’s lives by researching and developing medicines was all I needed to hook me. Being in the clinical research space unified all of my passions; every opportunity (no matter what department you’re in) allows for innovative and diverse work in a fast-paced environment. After a particularly rough day (which all jobs will inevitably have), it’s rewarding to remember that your work benefits patients around the world.My nearly one decade of expertise has fallen mostly under proposals, contracts, pricing, and finance, but I have been fortunate enough to work with talented individuals in project management, clinical operations, safety, data management. medical writing, biostatistics & programming, quality assurance, and regulatory. I've also had the opportunity to work at a company that specialized in conducting fully decentralized or hybrid clinical trials. When I'm not working, you can find me outside gardening, doing yoga, or volunteering at the local animal shelter.
