Setting a budget and then comparing actual income and expenditures was a vital aspect of my duties as business owner. Other responsibilities included reviewing sales reports and adjusting sales activities or expenses to better meet budgets. Merchandising was one of the strongest skills practiced every day to ensure that products appear in the right way on the shelves and on the social media platforms, at the appropriate time of the day and in the correct quantities. This involved working closely with the buying teams to accurately forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance. I arranged merchandise neatly on shelves, building aisle displays, placing orders, dressing mannequins and ensuring shelf tags and prices was accurate. I paid attention to detail, making sure I stayed in line with other clothing retail stores and what they had on special to offer to the public. I conducted a daily shopping center walk around to be on top of the businesses surrounding my shop and to be aware of the latest trends. Good communications skills empowered me to be 100% sure of the customers needs and to deliver goods most suitable for them. Walking that extra mile to ensure you get and deliver what the customer wants, has been the success of my small business and it ensured constant repeated visits from existing clients.
