I had to learn people’s management skills very fast in order to deal with the different needs and demands of my clients. My job was to go out in the market and to sign on new clients by selling them our very competitive and market leading software system and then to train them in the optimal utilization of the system. Although it was paramount to enlarge our client base all the time, it was equally important to retain existing clients by keeping them happy and problem free as far as the system is concerned. This often meant that I had to be available on cell phone on a 24/7 basis to defuse any smaller system problems immediately. I served quite a large market area which included parts of Gauteng, the North West Province as well as the Free State. I therefore had to travel on a regular basis to different destinations, either to market our product or to train new clients in the utilization of the system and new updates. This necessitated careful planning, proper preparation and good presenting skills and techniques. I really enjoyed this part of the job as it was constantly challenging my own capabilities and reflected a well planned and coordinated work style in which I could excel.
