As natural resources policy advisor for Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon, I was the Governor's Office lead for state and federal land management and water policy, environmental quality issues, Greater sage-grouse and migration corridors.

While also acting in full capacity in my role as River Basin Coordinator at the Wyoming State Engineer's Office, I was asked by Governor Mead to assist the Governor's Office to manage the State of Wyoming's engagement with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Forest Service (USFS) federal planning activities and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) projects. I also acted as the Governor's Office lead contact for the USFS. Specifically, I oversaw the State of Wyoming's involvement pertaining to: - New and in-process NEPA projects across the state;- USFS Forest Plan revisions, amendments, and implementation;- USFS and BLM Travel Management Plan development;- BLM Resource Management Plan implementation;- Monthly State and Federal Partners coordination meetings;- Governor's Brucellosis Task Force.

In the Interstate Streams Division at the Wyoming State Engineer's Office, I helped execute the State Engineer's Office mission to provide the general supervision and protection of the interstate waters of Wyoming. This is done by assuring compliance with interstate compacts and decrees and by monitoring actions that might impair Wyoming's ability to use its water.Key technical and policy activities that I oversaw included: -- Lead technical advisor to administration of the Yellowstone, Bear and Snake River Compacts.-- Primary Interstate Streams policy representative for the Upper Missouri River Basin and greater Missouri River Basin. --Promotion of interstate comity by facilitating face-to-face meetings, conference calls and webinars with others in Wyoming, our sister states and federal partners. -- Supported Statewide water planning efforts in conjunction with the Wyoming Water Development Commission.-- Conducted technical and policy review for all National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and federal policy actions pertaining to the State Engineer's Office.In addition to these responsibilities, I served as Wyoming's state representative to the federally-authorized Missouri River Recovery Implementation Committee (MRRIC) and serve on the Board of Directors for the Upper Missouri Water Association (UMWA).

I developed the groundwork for the first-ever comprehensive assessment of historical and potential water demand in order to assist the State with ensuring compliance according to the North Platte River Decree. This entailed developing a project-specific GIS database to digitize actual use and to spatially represent basin-wide water use trends with the goal of eventually streamlining tracking of statewide Wyoming ePermit water rights, Board of Control records, linen plats, and GIS data.

I researched, designed and implemented the College's first-ever energy audit and helped institutionalize sustainability as a core value on campus as well as throughout the community.
