Multiple-department student position at the UMBC library, primarily in the serials and administration departments. I tended the serials desk, helped library patrons locate journals and use online resources, and stamped, shelved, and processed library materials. As Lead Student Assistant I completed special tasks, such as submitting and managing claims for missing materials using ALEPH integrated library software and updating WorldCat and library holdings databases, and supervised two to three student assistants at a time. I also aided other librarians and staff in digitizing materials for university use, procuring office records for university archive collections, and organizing and storing receipts for library materials.

Summer research program at RMBL field research site under Dr. Rebecca Irwin and graduate student Gabriella Pardee, investigating the effects of frost on Delphinium nuttallianum (Larkspur) growth, reproduction, and plant-pollinator interactions. I observed and collected montane wildflower and pollinator specimens, wrote and presented independent research, created a site map using GPS and ArcGIS software, analyzed data using R and RStudio.I also took a course (Research Training in Wildlife Biology) taught by Dr. Ross Conover as part of this summer research experience, and learned the basics of bird handling, use of mist nets, survey techniques, and concepts of ecology and wildlife conservation.
