Ella Keymer is a native New Yorker seeking a dynamic work environment to utilize her diverse skills in grassroots organizing, collaborative cooking, and content curation while developing a more comprehensive view of the media industry. She is a multidisciplinary student with real-world non-profit experience during her time at Sarah Lawrence College, concentrating in Film and Cultural Studies.Ella is the Teen Programs Coordinator at ArtsConnection, pioneering the role and growing the organization’s social media presence to 1000 followers and creating innovative digital content using her skills in graphic design and photography. She is currently developing a potential new program focused around digital literacy and data science, providing teenagers digital skills for a rapidly developing workforce, and maintaining a record of alumni retention and growth. ArtsConnection is one of NYC’s oldest arts education non-profits, providing free programs for NYC public school students for over forty years. As a Sophomore at SLC, Ella has worked in the film department as a Writer, Director, Producer, DP, Editor, Set Dresser and Propmaster. Her credits include “Orange is the New Black”, “BART” and “Giovanni’s Room (a scene imagination)”. In the classroom, she has learned industry tools in “Fundamentals of Cinematic Lighting” and “Writing for TV.” Ella has also produced several “conference projects”--semester-long, dynamic research experiences. She has produced a website (“But the High Line is Pretty: Gentrification as an Art Form in Chelsea, NY”), a short film (“Giovanni’s Room (a scene imagination)”), an experimental video installation (“God, Etc.”), as well as several research papers (“Oscar Micheaux and the Culture of Criticism: Early Black Film and Black Media”, “Is Everyone a Critic?: The Fall of Roger Ebert and the Rise of Bratt Pitt”, “So You Want to Feed a Campus… Impact of Food Insecurity Initiatives at Sarah Lawrence College”).Ella has additional experience as a volunteer at Headcount, registering voters at concerts and live events She is training to be a Team Leader in the new year, taking on a larger managerial position at the nonpartisan organization. She is also a Resident Advisor at SLC and a Counsellor at Camp Oconto--both experiences require emotional intelligence, a collaborative spirit, and an organizational mind.Software knowledge includes Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel, Wordpress, Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey, Buffer, and Canva. Programming experience in Java, VB6, HTML, CSS, and Python.
