Elke has 25+ years as a strategic legal and business executive in technology, high-growth businesses, from private practice with an AmLaw 50 multinational law firm (Akin) to Big 5 Tech at two of the world’s most valuable brands (Microsoft and Meta) to a founder-led start-up in the communications industry that uses generative AI (Community.com). Since 2023, Elke has led the Legal and People teams at Community. Prior to joining Community, Elke was the Head of Legal for Meta’s multi-billion dollar Monetization and Meta Business Groups, including Ads, Business Messaging, Commerce, and other teams. Before Meta, Elke spent 16 years as a legal leader at Microsoft, where she served in increasing senior roles and led the Legal function for various businesses, including Microsoft’s Global Partner Solutions, Consumer and Devices, and Microsoft Store organizations, among other roles. Elke serves as a keynote speaker and panelist for various organizations on technology, cloud computing, AI, advertising, and diversity issues. In 2018, she was recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Black Lawyers in Corporate America. Elke also delivered the 2018 commencement address at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law graduation ceremony. She has been profiled in publications such as the Huffington Post, MCCA’s Diversity and the Law Magazine, and the Root.com, and was featured in the book “Life at the Speed of Passion”, by Eve Wright. Elke is an active volunteer in both legal and civic organizations and is a non-profit board member. Elke is currently Secretary, Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Western Washington and serves on the Board of Visitors for the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and O’Dea High School's Board. Elke is a past Board Chair of EastHub and of the Black Entertainment and Sport’s Lawyers Association.
