About Elke Stappert

Working at the New York Public Library has been very rewarding. I've worked in different aspects of our program over the years, from curriculum co-developer to regional program manager. In September 2016 I returned full-time to my real passion, teaching ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Beginner Literacy - Reading and Writing classes. I enjoy integrating technology and multi-media into instruction and developing new teaching material.In the past I've worked as a manager, after school teacher for kids (teaching movie production), as well as video producer and editor of corporate videos and documentaries.I speak English, German, Spanish, some French, very little Russian and one sentence in Japanese.I work with Microsoft Office, FCP, Adobe Premier, Motion, DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop, iMovie, InDesign, Quickbooks.I am available as a private tutor for English, German and computer lessons.
