Desk Officer for Afghanistan at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs' Department for Asia, the Pacific Region, and Latin America (AL)

During the spring semester of 2024, I interned at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm. Under the supervision of Deputy Director Maria Ermanno, I worked with the West and Central Europe Group within the Department for Europe and North America.Main responsibilities included: + Managing Sweden's position for the EU's Working Party on the United Kingdom (WPUK).+ Composing weekly internal reports on the European farmers' protests+ Assisting in preparations for ministerial meetings + Drafting speeches+ Compiling background for briefings on bilateral relations

Before starting my Masters programme in August, I worked for 6 months as the bar manager and head bartender at Restaurant Tapisco, a Michelin recognised Spanish-Portuguese Tapas Restaurant in the Hague. During my time at Tapisco, we were awarded our fourth consecutive Bib Gourmand. My main responsibilities included:+ Designing, creating, and facilitating a new cocktail menu+ Managing recruitments and training new staff+ Restructuring the administration of orders, stock, and general organisation of the bar+ Acting as a point of contact, facilitating communication between management and staff

In May 2020, I was voted to serve as the Chair of USL. After receiving this promotion, I decided, with the help of my peer, to restructure the board, creating more positions which served more defined roles.My main responsibilities as Chair included:+ Keeping contact with external associations/venues+ Creating and upholding Fortuna's COVID-protocol + Organising meetings+ Delegating tasks+ Progress reports

A sub-committee of the LUC student association 'Fortuna' with the primary role of organising social functions throughout the academic year. To date, some of our biggest events had over 500 attendees.My main responsibilities included keeping contact with external associations/venues, organising meetings and delegating tasks. Additionally, I was responsible for facilitating collaborations with other organisations such as UNICEF The Hague.

Assisted Professor Yih-Jye Hwang in a research clinic focused on "The War of Words over COVID-19: US, China and their deteriorating relationship." This project was created to aid Professor Hwang in the beginning stages of his research project and included tasks such as filtering relevant sources, summarising large quantities of primary and secondary research, and investigating and proposing alternative areas of focus for the project.

Interned for four months at a Hong Kong-based think tank which aims to improve the lives of Hong Kong’s marginalised ethnic minorities. During my time at TZF, I assisted with internal projects, fundraising, event management, outreach programs/surveys, and fieldwork research.

Acted as an official substitute for the Athletic Director’s assistant for 4 months. Position included organising sports competitions and events, managing stock and equipment, as well as helping the athletic director with specific tasks.

Worked as councillor at a 3 week confirmation camp for 40 15 year-olds. Although the camp was primarily focused on the confirmation process, it is also a multi-sports camp. As a councillor, I organised and led activities. Additionally, I was a mentor for a group of three boys. Although it was long time ago, this camp helped me to develop leadership and communication skills. Additionally, I left this position with an improved understanding of responsibility and authority.
