I am a student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, pursuing a degree in Psychology in the College of Natural Sciences and the Commonwealth Honors College. I am also pursuing a letter of specialization in Developmental Disabilities and Humans Services, I plan to pursue a Phd. in Clinical Psychology after I graduate. Here at UMass, I am the Vice President of our Chapter of Habitat for Humanity, a service based organization. My freshman Spring, I participated in the yearly service trip to Georgetown, South Carolina with twenty of my peers and helped to build a house for a week. This past Spring, I helped lead the annual service trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Also, I am the Lab Manager in the Disability, Inclusion, and Community Engagement lab, that researches how disability is perceived in society and how disability affects the disabled individual and their family throughout a lifespan. I spend most of my free time working as a UMass Student Representative, giving tours of campus to prospective students and families. Additionally in this role, I have spoken on multiple Student Panels for the College of Education and worked as a Hiring Chair, to lead our competitive hiring process. Additionally, I work as a Residential Assistant in Butterfield Hall, a freshman residence, and at the Campus Center Information Desk.Throughout the summer, I work as a sleep away camp counselor, this past summer I served as the Leadership in Training Director, where I planned and executed a detailed curriculum throughout the program for our oldest campers. Over winter breaks, I work full time as the building substitute teacher at Hardy Elementary School in my hometown of Arlington, Massachusetts.I am very excited for the future, as I am passionate about my studies and my community involvement.
