As a CNA my role was to help assist the residents with activities of daily living, and basic tasks that included bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and moving. This also came with emptying bedpans, changing soiled clothing and sheets, and cleaning up bodily fluids. While this part of the job allowed me to make a difference to people in need, it was also physically demanding. I was on my feet most of the time, working to lift residents, turn them over, transfer them in and out of bed, and push them in wheelchairs.
