I am a Senior Lecturer who has sustained experience in course leadership, curricular development, managing external partnerships and work placements, and supporting students' engagement with academic literacies. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I research issues that are relevant to Cultural Disability Studies and reflective professional practice. Current research projects include: co-editing a special issue of the Journal of Literary & Cultural Disability Studies, developing a monograph on representations of disability in advertising, and researching how students develop reflective practice during work placements. I am a core member of the Centre for Culture & Disability studies - a research centre based at Liverpool Hope University - that hosts and endorses internationally-recognised courses, publications and conferences. I am a trustee for Daisy Inclusive U.K. - a charity that offers community, education and employment support to disabled people. I am also a mentor for The Girls' Network - a national organisation that offers mentoring and networking opportunities to girls from the least advantaged communities.
