I'm particularly interested in medical science and any applied research that works on an aspect of improving quality of life. I know that a number of factors influence the gut-microbiome and directly impact mental and physical states of being. I’m interested in the effects of environmental exposure on epigenetic DNA expression and microbial makeup, but this is quite broad and social factors seem harder to scientifically study than nutritional factors. A vision I have for my research is to understand how the food and chemicals that humans consume impact their health, and I'm interested in looking at this through understanding the relationship between the biochemical processes and the microbe-human processes. I also understand that circadian rhythms have major impacts on health and I want to involve this in my research as well.
