I am a native Vermonter and a recent graduate from the University of Minnesota, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Kinesiology in Spring 2023. During my time at school, I dedicated myself to both academics and athletics, serving as a three-year varsity student-athlete on both the Auburn University Swim Team and the University of Minnesota Swim Team. These experiences shaped my understanding of the challenges faced by student-athletes, fueling my commitment to exploring the intersection of sports and psychology. My educational goal is to pursue a Ph.D. in the field of Sports and Exercise Psychology. My area of interest includes examining and implementing interventions for mental health in collegiate sports. Specifically, I am interested in understanding the prevalence of trauma in student-athletes, developing preventative measures, assessing systemic and psychological errors in mental health care within collegiate athletic programs, and creating coaching curricula centered around mental health protection for student-athletes. Excitingly, I have recently accepted a position as a Research Assistant in the Department of Psychiatry-VA-Schizophrenia Research Lab at Yale University. I am excited for the opportunity to develop my clinical research skills and gain valuable experience before embarking on my Ph.D. journey.
