I gained my clinical competencies in paediatric otoacoustic emissions, tympanometry, diagnostic acoustic reflexes, paediatric speech testing, VRA and play audiometry.I developed skills involving history taking, report writing and explanation of results.I was involved in the phase back of clinics during Covid-19 and therefore gained experience and skills in administrative side of the clinic. I was lucky to have had the chance to work in multiple Audiology departments across the Northern Trust in Northern Ireland for 3 months. This position involved working as part of a team, under direct and indirect supervision carrying out clinics with the adult population. I developed my clinical competencies and carried out administration and paperwork daily. I gained experience observing and practicing under direct and indirect supervision within the adult audiology service. From this I was able to develop my practical skills and report writing by taking part in direct referrals, hearing aid fitting and repair clinics.

My final year project involves in vivo experiments in laboratory animals which is performed in the renal Physiology laboratory by Dr. M. H. Abdulla of the Department of Physiology in UCC (http://research.ucc.ie/profiles/C008/m.abdulla). This project involves animal surgical procedures to cannulate the femoral artery and vein for blood pressure and heart rate recording, and intravenous fluids administration respectively. I was voted in as Biological representative by members of the Biology Society at the annual AGM.My main responsibilities included creating and running events, and being the link between the student body and the society. I was Involved in the organisation of events from local charity fundraisers, to science related talks, movie screenings and international trips which involve both university students and the committee.
