Through my Apparel Design major and retail Merchandising minor I have learned a great amount of creative skills. Some of my most valued skills have been the use of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. As well as Optitex pattern making. Other than digital talents, I have always enjoyed draping patterns! Recently I have been so interested in draping corsets!When I am out of school I am usually at work, currently occupying a sales associate position at the West End Anthoropohy in Minneapolis. As well as being a part of the styling team within the UMN Golden Magazine! I have always had a passion for styling others and making them feel comfortable in their clothes, but also reminding them that going out of your comfort zone can also be exhilarating. This spring semester I also joined the ADES student group, which is a group of apparel students that get to work together to set up volunteer activities as well as be involved with MN Fashion Week set-up tasks.One proud accomplishment of mine this year was receiving a scholarship from The Runway of Dreams Foundation, as I created an Adaptive S/S 24 clothing collection for kids and teens. I got to attend their fashion show at NYFW this past fall, which was such an eye-opening experience for me! My passion grew for how I can make individuals with adaptive characteristics more noticed and appreciated in the fashion industry!
