Hi, there! At 17 years old, I developed my passion for criminal justice reform. Weekly as a senior in high school, I had the privilege to teach inmates at my local county jail. This experience taught me the power of second chances, compassion, and seeing individuals for their brightest potential. Through my research, such as "Behind Bars: Beyond Means," "The Legality of Second Chances: Employment for the Formerly Incarcerated," and my co-founding of "Operation Second Chance," I have worked tirelessly to address systemic issues like recidivism, offering inmates career readiness training, resources, and job placement opportunities to break the cycle. My efforts have been recognized nationally, earning accolades for their impact and driving change within the criminal justice system. These past 3 years have showed me that I want to devote my career to criminal justice reform. Currently, I am an undergraduate attending Brigham Young University on a merit-based full-ride, majoring in Political Science with a Legal Studies Emphasis. Additionally, I am minoring in Business, Civic Engagement Leadership, and Global Women's Studies as an Honors Program student. My most recent work was on three political campaigns as a Media and Communications Co-Director, Canvasser, and Intern, championing the causes I am passionate about. I am hoping to obtain my J.D./M.P.P. to defend individuals on death row, and advocate for criminal justice reform on a national level.I look forward to connecting with you!
