I specialise in Civil Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Personal Injury and Public Law. Specifically, I have 5 years’ experience in bringing complex, multi-track civil claims and judicial review actions against detaining authorities, such as police forces, prisons, probation services, government departments, and healthcare providers, as well as private companies and individuals. I also represent bereaved families at inquests. I have a robust knowledge of Human Rights, Equality, Data Protection, Privacy and Prison Law, and have provided oral advocacy before the Parole Board.

I worked as a Trainee Solicitor at Tuckers Solicitors, and completed seats across the firm's Civil Liberties, Actions Against the State, Prison, Criminal and Health and Safety Law departments. Within this role, I successfully provided oral advocacy before the Parole Board and managed my own multi-disciplinary case load with minimal supervision. I was also responsible for business marketing and training within the department, which included assisting with preparation of our submissions to legal directories and preparing training sessions and materials.

I worked as a paralegal across the Civil Liberties, Actions Against the State and Prison Law departments. I was entrusted with significant responsibility and ran a multi-disciplinary case load under the firm's Public and Prison Law department heads. I benefited from working closely with leading solicitors in the field on novel public law challenges of primary and secondary legislation, as well as complex civil claims.

I worked as a Legal Intern at Tuckers Solicitors LLP, assisting solicitors across the Civil Liberties, Actions Against the State and Prison Law departments. Within this role, I took detailed notes of conferences with clients, barristers and witnesses, and benefited from attending a multi-day civil hearing before the Master of the Rolls, chairing a bench of three judges, regarding a topical issue of Human Rights Law. I contributed to case strategy discussions and assisted with management of the case files. I also attended on clients in custody to take instructions.

I worked as a Legal Assistant shadowing local lawyers in Panama. Within this role, I helped to provide pro-bono legal advice clinics to residents of rural communities in the Darien Province. The clinics focused on issues of employment, housing, education and reproductive and human rights. I was also responsible for preparing and delivering lessons to children at local schools, on topics such as bullying and children’s rights, as defined and protected by UN Charters. I learnt of the importance of economic self-determination by attending presentations delivered by locals regarding the function of their small businesses, and the development of a community-owned bank ran by indigenous women in the area. I also collaborated with local charities to discuss regional efforts to raise awareness of issues such as sexual health and education. Within this role, I was responsible for identifying and liaising with possible corporate sponsors of our work, such as law firms in Edinburgh, and presenting a funding pitch to them.

I worked as a Legal Intern within the Property Law Department at Maclay, Murray & Spens LLP (now Dentons LLP). I took detailed notes of client and internal strategy meetings which were retained on case files, I reviewed and scheduled extensive evidence in high-value property transactions and assisted with case management.
