In 2023, I relocated from Toronto, Canada to Brighton, UK to pursue a Master’s degree in Law. My aspiration to build a legal career has been longstanding, though financial considerations led me to spend over a decade working in the service industry before being able to fully dedicate myself to my studies. I am proud to have completed my Master’s degree with Distinction and First Class Honours. My dissertation, which applied Foucauldian methodology to explore the intersection between bodily autonomy and disability law, ultimately proposing a "right to silence" for the Deaf community, received a grade of 90% and has been recommended for publication.With my academic foundation now firmly established, I am eager to advance my legal career. I am particularly interested in Human Rights Law and Criminal Law, although I remain open to exploring diverse legal fields and practices.Over the course of my career in the service industry, I gained invaluable management experience, spending more than a decade developing critical transferable skills that will serve me well in the legal profession. These include project management, leadership, client relationship management, problem-solving, conflict resolution, communication, and negotiation.Having completed my studies, I am now fully committed to embarking on a career in law. I am actively seeking a role as a Trainee Solicitor and am confident that my academic background, combined with my practical experience, would make me a valuable asset to any legal team.
