My role involved assisting Principal Investigators in their application for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network European Grant.This involved 7 Beneficiaries and 23 Associated Partners.

Since 2016, I've completed a variety of projects with the UNESCO Research Centre. My experience began as a youth researcher, conducting research and compiling information which explored young peoples perception and knowledge of Tusla Child and Youth Services in Mayo and how young people wanted to receive information, as part of the Mayo Tusla Youth Advisory Committee. We compiled the findings into a poster that is used in Tusla training to showcase what young people want social workers to know. and how to make them feel more comfortable when using their services. We presented out findings as a workshop at Tuslas National Conference in 2017. We were also invited to Paris to present our research findings in the UNESCO Headquaters. Since then, I've continued to work with the Centre on projects that have included planning events in collaboration with a number of youth organisations (Fóroige & Ombudsman for Children), compiling videos, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and guest lecturing in NUI Galway for a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.As of March 2020 - March 2022, I've been involved in the UNESCO Youth as Researchers (YAR) global initiative that's exploring the impact of COVID-19 on young people and the responses young people have executed to tackle these challenges. I'm the Europe North America representative on the Steering Committee, the Global Coordination Team, and the European Team Coordinator. In March 2022, I attended the UNESCO headquaters in Paris for the Youth as Researchers Global Conference which brought Youth Researchers from around the world to showcase their hardwork to policymakers. At the conference, I hosted along with a fellow steering committee member a session discussing the YAR Rights. I also co-presented the UNESCO Global Grant Scheme for young people.

Unesco Child And Family Research Centre

Worked as a Research Assistant for NUI Galway, under the UNESCO Child and Family Research Centre. Adapted the Youth as Researchers Training model into an online model that could be distributed to members of the GAA. This training was adapted for GAA Generations- a youth researchers project that promotes and records intergenerational conversations with young people between the ages of 12-21 and an older person of influence in their life over the age of 55. My role involved conducting focus groups with young people and liaising with them throughout the creation of the training manual and training videos to ensure it was accessible. I also provided the voice over for the training. This data will be analysed and stored on a GAA Archive for future generations to access.
