I volunteered at LawRight for three months in providing pro bono legal assistance to individuals in need, where I had the privilege of working closely with experienced lawyers and contributing to the preparation of various legal documents. In this role, I was responsible for a diverse range of legal matters, gaining valuable experience across multiple areas of law. My role involved reviewing client applications, undertaking an analysis of their application and legal issues, and assisting with case management. This role required strong research and analytical skills to delve into complex legal issues and formulate effective legal strategies and recommendations for clients.

This role began in my early days as a customer service representative at the age of 15. Over the years, I relied on my thirst for learning and delivering client services and took on a management position as a ‘Shift Supervisor’. In this role, I was responsible for leading my team and managing the overall operations of the business as needed by the organisation. My main focus in this role was promoting growth and productivity, particularly through managing and exceeding customer expectations. Recognising the importance of employee motivation, I also proactively fostered a positive work environment for my team and took great pride in encouraging them to excel within their own roles.

During my senior years of education, I signed up to a school-based work experience program to equip me with transferable, professional skills before taking on ‘the real world’. In this role, I performed a wide range of administrative tasks to support the smooth functioning of the office. This role required strong organisational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail. My main responsibilities included answering phones, managing calendars, arranging meetings, file management and overall office management. In doing so, I acted as the first point of contact for visitors and customers.
