Play and movement have always been central to my work with adults. After nearly 20 years in language education, both internationally and in Canada, I have had the opportunity to work at language schools, universities, and corporate clients. In 2015, I started my own language learning program, Spanish con Ella, to fill a gap for immersive Spanish experiences in Toronto, Canada. The program allowed learners to choose their own experiences, meet other Spanish speakers, and test their knowledge in real-life settings. The success of the program was proof of how learners thrive when play and interaction is properly incorporated into the classroom. As an educator, I am so excited to now be a part of the Serious Play Conference, and to be able to contribute to this growing, innovative field where games and learning meet.
