Responsibilities included completing in-depth research on immigration legislation and procedures in the UK, preparing legal briefs and memorandums, assisting with asylum/visa applications, facilitating interviews both online and in-person, and writing up final advice letters. Issues we dealt with included family reunion applications, fresh asylum claims, and emergency applications stemming from the Ukrainian/Russian war. The team used the intricate database, CLIO, to keep track of our cases, incoming documents or evidence, and ensure we were on the same page as our partners.
