My path began with a love for fashion and design and has developed in response to local and global challenges, with a budding career in waste minimisation. Beginning with a Bachelor of Design majoring in Fashion and minoring in Sustainability, this education provided me incredible growth in not only design and creative capacity, but also in fashion ethics and sustainability, and systems theory and resource ecosystems. Throughout this study I worked in a local fashion production team for 3 years, including local production coordination. From here I have departed from the mainstream fashion industry, and into the growing and exciting waste minimisation space. My recent endeavours with WM non-profit organisations Sustinnoworx and Repair Café Aotearoa NZ have affirmed and inspired this move and prepared me for an exciting projection into a high growth and investment industry. I am now privileged to work in the rapidly expanding ImpacTex NZ team, the only scalable textile waste recovery organisation in Aotearoa.
