I am a nurse resident on the Surgical Acute unit at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. graduated from Concordia University St. Paul’s Accelerated Bachelor’s of Science program located in Portland, Oregon on August 2021. I earned Dean’s List placement in my last two semesters through academic achievement. My hospital clinical rotations were completed at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center telemetry units. My other clinical experiences include community health provision at the HIV Day Center in Portland, Oregon, and numerous, diverse virtual and classroom simulations. Prior to attending nursing school, I was employed at the Providence St. Peter Chemical Dependency Center for three years as an Office Assistant III, completing client admissions, numerous clinical support and client service tasks, and administrative assistance. I have four years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant and over 10 years of non-clinical experience working in midwifery, obstetrics, and gynecology. I volunteered at The Olympia Free Clinic in the roles of Nurse Coordinator and Medical Assistant for two years and completed a week-long medical mission trip in Haiti in 2015. Through this work, I have engaged with holistically diverse clients with varying acuity in a multitude of settings, which has allowed me to hone my critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills. I strive for optimal safety and perform tasks with integrity. I recognize the client as the central member of the care partnership. To ensure safety for the client, myself, and my colleagues, I seek support from team members and management. I value quality improvement and adopting evidence-based practice to optimize care outcomes.
