Venture For America is a fellowship for recent grads who want to learn how to build a business while making an impact. VFA Fellows get training and join a startup in an emerging US city, where they live and work for two years at one of our hundreds of partner companies. They learn hands-on what it takes to build a company, while getting the mentorship, network, and ongoing support to prepare themselves to become successful entrepreneurs. I was an analyst on Georgia Tech Coda project, a 750,000 square foot mixed-use project and a part of Georgia Tech’s Technology Square in Atlanta. I worked for Chief Operating Officer.Projects included creating financial model and developing Key Consideration document for Portman Holdings leadership.

• Created social media platforms such as an Instagram, a video for the staff and a website for the Gulu office of WGEF. • Collected loan payments and helped women assess their finances/future business plans.• Day-to-day operations such as teaching and attending workshops at different sites such as the barracks, prisons and several villages in Gulu, Uganda. Working at one of the most popular tourist attractions in Charleston, I provided excellent customer service in this busy and fast-moving environment.

• Taught 8th grade algebra to 25 middle school students.• Was one of four homeroom teachers from 8 AM to 4 PM Monday through Friday (50 hours/week). • Organized and executed study sessions, life-skills workshops and productive activities. • Held one on one sessions with children to give them caring, accepting and encouraging ear.
